After all those blogs I've written throughout my journey, I've realized a lot of them have content that is sometimes irrelevant or innapropriate. However, the nature of my writings was personal and not for publication and hence I did not ammend them grammatically or factually. This is the nth version of a space where I can write about the challenges I and many others face. I have made errors, I have accomplished a little bit and this is my archive. Beyond Conventional Wisdom in Sourcing
What is multi-sourcing?Adidas wanted all three things to bid on each other but their tasks were interdependent. Making the suppliers compete with each other brought the costs down. Toyota has a supplier council where they develop suppliers.
What needs to be done is balancing competition with collaboration among vendors. Creating a multi-sourcing strategy hinders the suppliers to exhibit opportunitism.
